I got it working after following: 1) Uninstalled the old v6.3 2) Installed the new v.6.5 3) followed the wiki page http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.cgi?ExistingMySQLInstance to use the existing mysql instance rather than the slimserver embedded one 4) open a console and then cpan install Digest::SHA1 5) Depending on your perl situation you might need to also do cpan install YAML::Syck
6) after that the slimserver starts and does it's thing. I initially use: perl /usr/local/slimserver/slimserver.pl --d_server --d_info --d_import --d_sql --d_mysql in order to see the full debug output. 7) This is the best slimserver version so far and at least for a Suse user the least problematic. -- Darkblue ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Darkblue's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4668 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=27814 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
