I tried this a few days ago (on a "clean" system) and got the same odd messages about checksums... don't know if you've updated since then.
Question though; does this "emerge" of slimserver use a local mysql server or does it keep using the "slimserver embedded mysql"? I would prefer to just have one running sql server on the machine :D Any chance of this getting into portage proper?
