I just installed slimserver 6.5.0 on OpenBSD 3.9. I had no luck with
using OpenBSD packages for the perl modules, so I tried
build-perl-modules.pl. It failed with the useless message "There was a
problem creating Makefile - exiting!"

I finally found the answer in the wiki. I'd like to suggest that
build-perl-modules.pl be modified so it tries /usr/local/lib for expat,
and so it will print a better error message if it can't find expat. I
would do this myself but I'm no good with perl.

Another problem I had was that there is no mysqld on OpenBSD. It's
either mysqld_safe or _multi. This seems to be a quirk of the package.
I used _safe because, well, it sounded safer. I have no idea what the
difference is.

Now that it's built, if I could only get the server to run I would be
happy.
