And this package (libyaml-syck-perl) is not available for stable
Debian.

"you can just install the packages" is such a joke. Well, do it, and
you'll wreck your machine like I just did. First those silly
dependencies, and when you just tell it to ignore libyaml-syck-perl and
install anyway, it gets started, but uses 99% CPU now for 15 minutes. Of
course no web interface yet, nor any useful log file. Why is there even
a /var/log/slimserver if it's just empty after months of use of the
software?

And lets not forget those 24 hours to rescan the database, something
mt-daapd can do on the same machine in about 7 minutes.

It's really getting time that Roku finally supports WPA.

Why not at least keep the old version available that was there once?
That way, people silly enough to fall for the 6.5.1 hype would have
something to step back to!
