for what its worth, same problem. It seems the perl libraries requested by slimserver dont match those supplied by the ubuntu respositories for edgy.
I tried commenting out all the ubuntu repo's to see if it would resort to fetching them from the deb.slimserver repo, but that failed. Don't know enough about this to resolve it, but good in a way to know im not alone.
