Hi- I found this incredibly useful, but I had a couple of questions. I started to try this install last night on an Olive Musica running version 2.3 of the software. The problem is that Olive uses a version 5.8.2 of Perl making the installation of the RPM file of the Slimserver less straightforward. I am hesitant to upgrade the version of Perl on the Musica.
If the Perl version is wrong, you'll probably have some problems, but YMMV.
Is there any other way to unpack the RPM an put the critical files on the Musica, as you described?
use the tar.gz instead of the RPM.
Also, what happens to the installed version of Slimserver when the automatic updates are run on the Musica? Do they replace everything, requiring a reinstall of the Slimserver?
I have no idea -- I don't have an Olive. -- "I spent all me tin with the ladies drinking gin, So across the Western ocean I must wander" -- traditional _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
