Thanks -- threads things make sense. Is there anyway to increase the priority of the MySQL threads? Do I 'renice' each thread, the parent thread...? Is -19 the correct value? Looking for a hint as to the use/syntax of nice/renice.
(Apologies for the limited Linux skills -- the closest I got to this OS is two years working on an AT&T 3B2 in the late 80s (System V, even).
