Hi, As a previous poster stated any linux or unix distro will work EVENTUALLY!
Some are easier to use than others though. The learning curves vary. It is too much to expect that they all will work "right out of the box" However the last two "distros" I tried, A small Gentoo system I put together and my current Freenas ( Thanks Michael! ), systems worked first time. There were some performance issues and still are ( waiting for Freenas swappping) but they are perfectly usable. Unfortunately Linux and Unix (BSD) still need some understanding and tender care to get the best out of them. It is no good hopping from distro to distro like a butterfly. Choose one and give it a good kicking! Find and understand the problems and fix them.
