Could be one of several things that is preventing you from accessing the
Slimserver web page. 

You can start/stop Slimserver with the terminal command line
/sbin/service slimserver start (or stop or restart)

You could have permissions issues. Slimserver installs with it's own
user/group (assuming you installed the program as root) so you need to
make sure other users have access. 

I don't use your flavor of Linux but other things to check would be if
SELinux is installed and preventing access. A firewall issue may cause
an external access problem but it shouldn't prevent localhost access.
