You still need to create a local mountpoint on your server that Slimserver can access. I don't know whether CC includes a Samba client, but if not (or if you like *x purity), you could use NFS on the Infrant (I'm pretty sure CC includes an NFS client by default).
Disclaimer: my Linux/Unix is very rusty and fortunately I remembered enough to get my SS (running on Ubuntu) to access my Infrant-hosted music by creating a mountpoint for my SMB network volume. I have still to figure out how to automate this (entry in fstab? script?), but I dimly recall that at one time there was a caution about using fstab to effect nfs mountpoints. Dunno if that's still true. I have to say I didn't find the SD wiki all that useful in making progress, so you might want to search the forums for keywords like "nfs", "mount", "fstab", and the like. -- Balthazar_B ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Balthazar_B's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7366 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=34669 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
