Hello All,

I got hold of an old PC from work, a Compaq Deskpro EN PIII - 800 Mhz
512MB and 10GB, that I want to use purely to host SlimServer. All my
music is stored externally on a 1TB Iomega NAS.

I have used Ubuntu 7.04 x86 alternate install ISO, as the machine is
old and does not have a lot of memory. I installed SlimServer 6.5.1
(following: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.cgi?DebianPackage) and
everything went well, except that it did not create the SlimServer user
folder. But I though what the heck...

I can access the SS webpage, I can use SoftSqueeze to access
SqueezeNetwork, I seemingly have no perl issue, the slimserver.log is
there, but its permissions are set as the owner "slimserver -
SlimServer". But, no matter how much music I have, SS does not show
this.

I presume now, that this is something to do with the fact that
SlimServer user folder was not created, so how do I create to and get
SS working correctly?

I tried following this
(http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=34538) advice and ran
the command
/opt/slimserver/scanner.pl --rescan --cleanup --progress --d_scan
/home/mediabox/Music
but it returned "/opt/slimserver/scanner.pl no such file or
directory"... I checked and true the folder SlimServer is not in the
opt folder.

I tried also following some of the advice in
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=34394 to get the
debugging information using "./slimserver.pl --d_mysql --d_server
--d_startup", but again "./slimserver.pl no such file or directory"

please help.. i wanna listen to music...
