I have just finished setting up Slimserver on Ubuntu Server 7.04. All command line... no Gnome desktop. I dont have monitor or keboard attached. Install ssh server on your Ubuntu server, then use a terminal client on your windows box like puTTy that support ssh. Then with ssh terminal and web browser to port 9000 you have complete control of your Slimserver. Get PuTTy for windows here: http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html Install SSH Server: sudo apt-get install openssh-server Configure SSH server: https://help.ubuntu.com/7.04/server/C/openssh-server.html If you need any more help... just post! -- Guido ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Guido's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12246 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=36568 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
