I know other people are installing it successfully, but I have been unable to do it. I have tried both stable and testing. In both cases when running apt-get install slimserver, it fails with the message:
Failed to fetch http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/libc/libclass-inspector-perl/libclass-inspector-perl_1.16-1_all.deb Size mismatch E: Unable to fetch some archives, maybe run apt-get update or try with --fix-missing? Any suggestions? I have successfully installed at least a hundred packages on to this new system - this is the only one that doesn't work. Something I found strange was that when installation begins for Slimserver the system asks to me to insert the CD that I had burned the ISO file for installing Gutsy. I am not doing an upgrade from Feisty, but a fresh install - or trying to. Why does it need the CD again? Why not go out to the web for whatever it needs? -Ron -- Ron F. *Squeezebox setup:* wireless SB3 -> CI Audio VDA.2 DAC + VAC.1 PSU *Main rig:* NAD 7600 + NAD 2600A -> Phase Tech PC-6.5 speakers *Headphone rig:* Headroom Max -> Sennheiser 650s *Music Server:* Nano-ITX computer running SlimCD + 750 GByte HDD -> Netgear wireless router *Other stuff:* NAD C542 CDP, NAD 6300 Tape, Monster 5100 Power conditioner, Outlaw Audio cables ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ron F.'s Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5616 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=39636 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
