I have EAC installed on my Ubuntu Gutsy laptop, and it works so perfectly under wine, it looks like a native Linux application. It is not very fast however. I also have dBpoweramp installed, and it is much faster when doing a secure rip. Despite being faster dBpoweramp does not run as cleanly under wine as EAC. It has problems ejecting CDs, (although upgrading wine to version 0.9.50 seems to help,) and it has a problem being minimized on my machine. Turning off desktop window management in wine specifically for dBpoweramp helps with that.
