For all those looking for a way to prevent their Squeezecenter s7.x from going into standby whilst players are running I have cooked-up half a solution. The trick is to call the inhibit / unhibit methods in the gnome-power-manager. Unfortunately this solution only supports machines that run Gnome. I think dbus is also available on KDE so I guess the same approach can be ported.
But CYJ, this solution still needs some serious debugging and I have absolutely no idea what I am doing!!! Credits go to several existing sources: 1) The existing PreventStandby plugin that comes standard with the windows version and 2) the example from the gnome-power-manager wiki which unfortunately is in python but clearly demonstrates what needs to be done. Hopefully someone will pick up what I have started and finish it. At the moment the systemcalls to dbus fail probably because of improper access rights??? Note: Plug-ins for Squeezecenter live in /usr/share/squeezecenter/Plugins/. If no such directory exists create one and copy the entire zip file to that location. Restart Squeezecenter and voila the plugin is where is should be. Good luck. +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Filename: GnomePreventStandby.zip | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4123| +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ -- Nazz ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Nazz's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8972 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=42264
