Again from memory but the Old production server isn't the SC6ish servers but a separate SC7 version and the Beta server is the Beta server.
They are building a new Squeezenetwork infrastructure and pointed the SC7 Old network at it for testing (so the info may be in the developer forums) with the Beta still pointed at beta. When they are happy with it I believe they intended to migrate all the accounts from the current network onto the New SC7 network and have everyone connect there. The the Old SC7 and Beta would be as expected.
