Yes, its a 2U server, weighs a ton, dual hot swappable power supplies, etc. It can be lifted by one guy, but we always use two guys to lift it, as its nearly full rack depth as well. Don't know about desktop MB's, none of mine have more than 2GB, which is plenty for mere mortals doing development. I ran Mandriva 64 on a desktop for a while, gave up, too many things didn't exist in 64 bit, mostly media players, etc. that make surfing the web fun. So I just loaded Ubuntu 32 over it. Realistically, the range from 2.01 GB to 4GB seems to be a black hole for support. Nearly all the consumer MB's expect lots of fancy graphics there. And while *nix handle it better than Windoze, it is not clear to me how much bang for the buck you get there. Over 4GB its clear that more memory is a big win, but you have to be driving it hard. Nothing a SqueezeCenter does needs that. -- Pat Farrell http://www.pfarrell.com/ _______________________________________________ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
