Hi Guys, I may well be doing something stupid here.. but my grasp of the install procedure is pretty minimal.
Extracted the tarball in my home dir. sudo slimserver.pl tells me it needs to run build-perl-modules.pl. Fair enough. Initially it required about 3 or 4 modules, and all but one of these wanted to play ball. GD is the one that is not wanting to cooperate. I updated my ports tree and made sure all of my MySQL & Perl ports and their associated dependancies were current - but still no joy. Here's the output that beginning to look all to familiar; The only difference I have noted is sometimes it states it wants to use lwp vs. curl to download the files; yet neither downloads anything; ----------------------- [EMAIL PROTECTED] /usr/home/kymbo/squeezecenter-7.0-17793]$ sudo /usr/bin/perl /usr/home/kymbo/squeezecenter-7.0-17793/Bin/build-perl-modules.pl GD Welcome to the Slim Devices perl module installer. These packages are needed for SqueezeCenter to function. You will need a C compiler (gcc), make, and perl installed. You will need development libraries for MySQL. eg: libmysqlclient You will need development libraries for expat. eg: libexpat1-dev *** Ignore any warnings about AppConfig. *** Please enter a perl binary to use (defaults to /usr/bin/perl) This must be the same perl binary that you ran this program with --> /usr/bin/perl Please enter a directory to download files to --> /usr/home/kymbo Downloads will use /usr/local/bin/curl to fetch tarballs. All done! [EMAIL PROTECTED] /usr/home/kymbo/squeezecenter-7.0-17793]$ ----------------------- Am I asking too much to get this to work under FreeBSD 5.5? (5.5-RELEASE-p14) Slimserver 6.5.4 was happy enough. thanks, Kym. -- kymbo ------------------------------------------------------------------------ kymbo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7859 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=44929 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
