I do the same thing, my custom-convert.conf entry: flc flc * 00:04:20:06:b4:65 [flac] -dcs --force-raw-format --endian=little --sign=signed --skip=$START$ --until=$END$ -- $FILE$ | brutefir -quiet -nodefault /etc/squeezecenter/filter-00_04_20_06_b4_65 | [flac] -cs -0 --totally-silent --endian=little --sign=signed --channels=2 --bps=24 --sample-rate=44100 -
I have enabled both file types, "native" and "flac flac". I do not own a second squeezebox to try if a squeezebox with different mac address really does not use the brutefir step, but I am quite sure that the slimdevices guys did not make any error on this. My only squeezebox definitely works okay with brutefir and a setup like the line above.
