I've installed Squeezecenter on a fresh Ubuntu install.
There are two problems i am struggling with resolving:

1)
During installation i got an error saying it could not create
/etc/squeezecenter/ but on looking there I find the folder. So I didn't
really take notice of the rest of the error.
The folder contains
/etc/squeezecenter/convert.conf
/etc/squeezecenter/modules.conf
/etc/squeezecenter/types.conf

Squeezecenter loads perfectly on http://localhost:9000/
I find the content in /home/e/Music but not in my other internal HD,
with also happens to be my windows HD. Read on the forum that this is
because the Squeezecenter user does not have the correct rights.
Problem is there is no Squeezecenter user nor any Squeezecenter groups.
Was i supposed to do this manually? Or was this part of the error
message? How do I fix?

2)
I have two network cards eth1 connected to the internet and eth0 to the
SB with crossover cable. A colleague recommended me to use the following
details to connect to the SB via windows:
IP address: 10.47.240.1
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway:10.47.240.1
Using the opposite numbers on the SB
In windows this worked without problems.

I cant get it to work in ubuntu.
Following another thread here i used

Code:
--------------------
     ifconfig eth0 inet 10.47.240.1 netmask 255.255.255.0
--------------------

Doing this the SB could find my computer but the computer could no
longer connect to the internet.
Please help?

And please don't say I should go back to using windows. That is not an
option.
