I'm using an older version of Slimserver that will be upgraded in the next month or so, but since it's been working just fine, I haven't had to touch the program in over a year except to add new music and playlists. I've just posted about a problem in capturing a local stream. There's one other issue I have that is just cosmetic so it wasn't worth my time to look into it until now, when I'm working on something else. I download a lot of old time radio plays. I've written my own program in Java to do this (it's free and on my site at http://halblog.com). To keep track of what's been downloaded, it needs to keep up with the directories, and those directories match data from the URLs where the files are downloaded from. For instance, I have over 100 episodes from the show "X Minus 1". Some are in a directory (where Slimserver can find them) X_Minus_1_A, some in X_Minus_1B, and some in X_Minus_1C. Remember, I need to keep the files in those directories, not only so my own program can keep track of what I've downloaded, but also so if I ever want to download files by hand, I can keep up with what I have (instead of having to sort through hundreds of files on my own). The tags for all the episodes of "X Minus 1" specify the artist as "Old Time Radio," the album as "X Minus 1" and the title as that episode title. These are all MP3 files. When I step through the list of selections on Slimserver and browse by artist, once I select "Old Time Radio" as the artist and see the list of albums (which are actually the different old time radio series), I see "X Minus 1" listed 3 times, once for each directory and the episodes listed correspond to the files in that directory. What I'd like to do is have "X Minus 1" listed as an album only 1 time and all the episodes (which are like tracks on an album) showing up be listed under that one instance. Is there any way to do this?
