Hello all, I solved the problem by installing a brand new OpenSUSE system 10.2. Then I could install the SqueezeCenter without any problem.
For further updates I hope that I do not have to install a new operating system in advance because SqueezeCenter is not the only running application... ;-) -- A note to the developers of the SqueezeCenter-GUI: Well done! When you begin to develop a SlimDevice where I can stream movies over the internet, please let me know.
