I haven't gotten around to building a new server yet, on which I plan to install Ubuntu Server, but for now I need to get a new hard drive to store my library. My current server is running WinXP Pro, with NTFS formatted disks.
Can I just pop that NTFS formatted hard drive into a new Linux server and have it read, shared and written to by the Linux system? There would be an additional boot disk, with this one used only for the music library. If so, are there any limitations or performance penalties involved? I'm also considering the possibility of dual-booting the new server with both Ubuntu and Windows and sharing the library disk between them. -- JJZolx Jim ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47836 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
