Thanks for the info, but I'm afraid it hasn't fixed the issue. Watching the progress bar on the Squeezecenter webpage shows the track trying to play for around 10-15 seconds before shuffling onto the another in the play list. If there is only one track in the playlist it will keep trying to play for about 10 seconds and then going back to the start of the track. The change to the mplyer.sh file had no impact on streaming BBC sites so that's OK.
Any more ideas?
