I finally upgraded to CentOS 5 and got SqueezeCenter off of my Windows box (whew!)
I was able to get it installed, scanned my music and all was happy until I tried to connect the receivers to the server. The problem seems clearly to be in the firewall since when I disabled the firewall the receivers magically found their place in the world. I have been looking around on the slimdevices website and have not found the info I need so I am probably looking in all the wrong places. :( I saw an email reference opening port 3483 (or something like that) and I have no idea where that came from. I have only opened 9000 udp/tcp. Is there a how-to for CentOS 5 firewall/selinux setup for SqueezeCenter 7.01? Help appreciated!
