Thanks for the reply. I am new to Linux so appreciate the help.

Doing ls -alh on my /media directory gives:

total 36K
drwxr-xr-x  7 root root    4.0K 2008-08-09 05:55 .
drwxr-xr-x 21 root root    4.0K 2007-12-02 18:55 ..
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root       6 2007-12-02 18:23 cdrom -> cdrom0
drwxr-xr-x  2 root root    4.0K 2007-12-02 18:23 cdrom0
drwxr-xr-x  2 root root    4.0K 2007-12-02 18:23 cdrom1
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root      45 2007-12-02 18:25 .directory ->
/etc/kubuntu-default-settings/directory-media
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root      42 2007-12-02 18:25 .hidden ->
/etc/kubuntu-default-settings/hidden-media
drwxrwx---  1 root plugdev 8.0K 2008-08-05 17:25 sda1
drwxrwx---  1 root plugdev 4.0K 2008-07-22 17:07 sda5
drwxrwx---  1 root plugdev 8.0K 2008-08-08 18:54 sdb1

I tried changing the permissions on sdb1 by using:

sudo chmod a=r sdb1

This didn't add read permissions for everyone.

When I browse for music folder in SqueezeCenter I can see:

/media/cdrom
/media/cdrom0
/media/cdrom1

What is wrong?

Thanks,
Paul
