Wow, a "complete Linux newbie" who uses iptables instead of the GUI firewall tool. Cool! Anyway, that should do it. If you press-hold left on the player to get to the setup menu, can it see and connect to the server? I'm not really sure what should happen if the SB is connected to an SC, then that SC goes away and another one shows up on a different IP.
