abcde can also be run as a daemon (polls the drive every 10 seconds for a new disc) and thus you have an auto-ripping solution. When I buy a new CD, I just slap it in my home server, and it spits it out 5 minutes or so later. A few minutes after that the CD is ripped to FLAC. I still have to either do a nightly rescan or browse music folder to load it in the library, but that's okay. I also have to add art and clean up tags if they're not what I like.
