As others have pointed out, support for 'exotic' processors like PPC
and ARM is spotty at best. And it's not all Logi/Slim's fault. For
example, to run SC on my PPC-based LinkStation I still need a hack to
get around the fact that there doesn't seem to be an Encode:: Detect
module that works on PPC platforms. And on an ARM I need a different
hack for the GD module. I suppose you could blame Logi/SD for requiring
modules that don't exist on some platforms, but I can definitely
understand the *business* choice to enhance the experience for the
majority of users at the cost of inconveniencing <1% of users.

After grappling with those hurdles for a while I'm about to give up and
move to an x86 platform, but still running Linux. The consolation is
it's a much faster machine, and there is an x86 Linux build for MusicIP
;o)
