Hi I am trying to connect up an old Slimbox (the Ethernet one, not the wireless one) directly to a old PowerBook G4 running Tiger. Without any luck as you may guess.
I understand that on Tiger if I turn Ethernet sharing on then it is supposed to provide DHCP on the 192.168.2.x subnet. I have set the IP address for the Ethernet port manually to 192.168.2.1. The Slimbox does not detect DHCP on the Ethernet connection, and manually setting its own IP address to 192.168.2.2 and telling it the router is 192.168.2.1 and the Squeezecenter is 192.168.2.1 (which it is running on) just results in a blank screen on the Slimbox. I can ping the PowerBook on 192.168.2.1 so that is fine. What am I doing wrong? I have tried it with a crossover cable and a normal cable. Which one should I be using? Any ideas? Cheers. -- lnikj ------------------------------------------------------------------------ lnikj's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=21440 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=55574 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
