Hi, > I just reinstalled my system with a clean Ubuntu 8.10 64-bit dual-boot, > with Vista Ultimate 64 on the other booting side.
This page gives 3 alternatives if you ahve more that 4 gigs of RAM: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=855511 1) Use a 64bit version of Ubuntu 2) Use a PAE enabled kernel 3) Do nothing This is also my case and I chose option 3 (i.e. to use the 32bit version and to be limited to 4GB), the other options are in my opinion not robust enough. I will wait about one year before trying the 64bit version. I know the issues are rapidly being solved, but I don't want to take part in that effort... And my ubuntu with 4GB is good enough and I know that in one year I will be able to use a 64bit version and dispose of all my RAM.
