Well, I didn't give up. I have now Ubuntu 8.10 64-bit dual booting with Vista Ultimate 64 off my mirrored RAID drive. Getting Vista and Ubuntu to coexist as OS on a RAID was not easy.
But SC 7.2.1 continues to have issues in Ubuntu 8.10 64-bit, in my opinion. It seems more unstable than the Windows version (just seems to have crashed again). But more importantly, while the SB3s and the SBR connect to it, my 2 SqueezeboxBoom and the SBC don't seem to like the 7.2.1 Ubuntu based server one bit and fail to connect to it. Pretty bizarre. I am rebooting from Windows so I can play some music now... But I will keep trying on occasion - I am obstinate and want it to work. :-) -- pablolie ...pablo Server: 3.3 GHz Intel E8600 Core 2 Duo Vista Ultimate 64 Sources: SB3 (4), SB Boom (2), Duet, Accuphase DP65v Amplification: Accuphase E306v Loudspeakers: Tuned and self-built Ceeroy 3 way Headphones: Grado SR-1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ pablolie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3816 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=56017 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
