Thanks!! I've been pulling my hair out going all around the ubuntu menus trying to change the music directory permissions, but evidently this cannot be done from the gui menus because of some internal policy.
For other lost souls like myself, to be explicit: 1. In a terminal, cd to the top directory of your music folder:(i.e. "/home/user/Music") 2. Type exactly: sudo chmod -R a+rX ./ 3. Provide the root password 4. Open Squeezebox and start music library scan 5. Done! -- rkerr ------------------------------------------------------------------------ rkerr's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8784 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=56375 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
