YaST on SuSE, MCC on Mandriva, Synaptic on Debian/Ubuntu

I would not be able to use Linux without them.

I hated RedHat back in vi for config days. The sole reason I went to
Mandrake/Mandriva was their MCC. Today, I would not recommend Mandriva,
but in the Debian and Ubuntu space, Symaptic rules.

YaST is fine as well in the SuSE space.

On Debian/Ubuntu, if you shell in using
ssh -X myserver

then you can start the GUI remotely with

 gksu /usr/sbin/synaptic

Its a huge help when you want to run headless.
