I just got my squeezebox duet today, and after downloading and
installing squeezecenter-7.3.2-1.noarch.rpm on my fileserver i was all
ready and set for the indexing to begin. At first everything seemed to
go smooth, but after a while my fileserver didn't respond to any
ssh/http traffic anymore. I still had a terminal open with top running,
and that showed me that the sqeezecenter proces was using a whopping
1.2GB of memory (with other processes running the total available
memory of 512MB ram and 1GB of swap was completely used). After a few
minutes (with a load of 50+) the kernel decided that this abuse had to
be stopped:

kernel: Out of memory: kill process 2035 (squeezecenter-s) score 76823
or a child

kernel: Killed process 2035 (squeezecenter-s)

My fileserver has an AMD sempron 2300+ processor and 512MB of memory
(which should be enough according to the P3 733MHz and 512MB
requirements as shown on the retail box) and has perl 5.8.8-40
installed. I am running Fedora 8, with kernel 2.6.25.14-69.

Is there anyone who knows what is going on?
