If you add the Slim Devices repository to your Synaptic list, you can
make it all automatic.

As the wiki says:

add the following line to the Synaptic repository list:
deb http://debian.slimdevices.com stable main

then you can use Symaptic to install and configure it with one click.

7.4 is beta. I'm running it, but its not for production use.
