Not really a wiser head but ...

I set SELinux to permissive then when it throws up something that it
has allowed but wouldn't have done under enforcing, I try and fix it.
Sometime it works. Sometimes.

TBH, if the server is at home with no access from the outside world,
you don't need the extra protection but at least permissive lets you
learn as you go.
