Thanks a lot for your response, I am sure it will be helpful to many. I have used bonding on linux (a little) and bridging (a lot more.) Bonding ethernet and wifi is a great idea to get mobility + throughput at will (provided mii works well with your hardware platform.)
However, bonding is not practical in my case, since I voluntarily use 2 different subnets, one for wired, one for wireless. After a bit more of googling, I decided that I'd write a note making clear that disconnecting the ethernet plug is not the way to go to stop the wired interface... Problem solved. If I were to use a single network, I would surely give bond a go.
