After a long period of having no time to install SqueezeCenter on my Solaris machine, I decided to go for the pain again, and install SqueezeCenter on a fresh installation of OpenSolaris, version 2009.06 (SunOS moscow 5.11 snv_111b i86pc i386 i86pc Solaris).
As you might imagine, thing went wrong. I used the installation guide, and fixed it where necessary, but still SlimServer won't run. At first, I got the XSAccessor problem (again): make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `linkext' Can't stat blib: No such file or directory at ./Bin/build-perl-modules.pl line 304 Couldn't find a valid dynamic library for Class-XSAccessor-Array-0.05.tar.gz - something is wrong. Exiting! I 'fixed' this by removing the dependency from the build file, and install it using the perl shell. I did the same for AutoXS, which also gave errors. Then I finished the installation, but now, Squeezebox won't run. When I run 'slimrun', SqueezeCenter starts, and then exits, without errors or anything (I checked the 'Logs' directory). No output at all. So, my question is: is there anyone out there who got Squeezebox running on OpenSolaris? Since I'm really determined to get it running now, but this stuff is annoying me enormously! Thanks for reading, and hopefully for some advice.
