Perhaps you could use bind mounts if your file organization is reasonably stable. Look for the "bind" option in the mount manpage (type man mount in a terminal) An fstab entry for a bind mount looks like this (remove the #) : #/orig/dir /dest/dir/some/other/place none bind 0 0
