I just installed Ubuntu 9.04 and SC 7.3.3. This is a dual-boot system, and my music files are on an NTFS partition which is mounted to the local filesystem as /data (owner is root : plugdev).
Neither /data nor a similarly mounted volume (/windows) appears in the list of folders in SC's UI when it asks where to find the music files and playlists. Manually entering the path results in scans which complete in 0 time, and specifying subdirectories (i.e. /data/music) causes the UI to revert to an empty string. I've tried created a symlink to /data and pointing to that but, although it now appears in the list, it is no more successfully traversed. I fear that NTFS partitions are ignored. My meager efforts to chown the folders have failed. My housewarming party tonight is in danger! Any insight? Thanks so much!
