On SuSE Linux 11.2 with locale utf8 all non-latin characters are
displayed wrong in the Squeezeboxserver-Web-Interface as well as on the
Squeezebox itself. This concerns SB 7.4.1 and 7.5 beta.

Example: Andante C-Dur für Flöte und Orchester

Contrary to other reported problems with such characters I can play
these files.

Furthermore there is a problem starting the squeezeboxserver:

linuxkiste:/ # /etc/init.d/squeezeboxserver start
Starting Squeezebox Server:                               failed
Your locale was detected as C, you may have problems with non-Latin
filenames. Consider changing your LANG variable to the correct locale,
i.e. en_US.utf8
[09-11-15 00:00:07.0415] main::init (320) Starting Squeezebox Server
(v7.5.0, r29260, Sat Nov 14 02:02:49 PST 2009) perl 5.010000

Anyway the server process is running, but the lockfile is missing.

I had no success with different char-set settings in the
/etc/sysconfig/squeezeboxserver

The locale is set correctly, the filesystem has utf8-encoding:

linuxkiste:/ # locale
LANG=de_DE.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_NAME="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_ADDRESS="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_TELEPHONE="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="de_DE.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=

Any ideas?
