@fragfutter Thanks for that.
For any other folks working with the Acer Revo, I think my experiences may prove helpful. I installed Kubuntu 9,04, updated and installed both squeezeboxserver and softsqueezebox together with the free java jre and all appeared to work well although I have not mastered getting server configuration to work, yet. I found the html pages, but they are presumably served up by html-ing into the box. I will get there, eventually! I twice tried to upgrade to 9.10 with and without the new KDE settings and both times xserver broke because of no screens being set. KDE 4 has messed around with xserver setup, so most of the well known repairs don't work. I think this is an Ion video problem because I could not get xserver to run in the latest rescuecd either. The good news is that Kubuntu 9.10 installs and runs fine on the Revo from the usb-cd and your forced dependency trick will probably get me going on the Karmic Koala version. -- Roy Leith ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Roy Leith's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=35534 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73044 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
