thank for the suggestions.
i did select the board because it is "all inclusive" type a well as low
power consumption. and it does all i need. 
it has actually a good compromise in the performance, options and cost,
just could be a bit less power hungry
in the reality Atom has some sort of "castrated" power saving
capabilities within CPU
and N.Bridge on this model is far from the perfect chose for such
setup.
i hope newer model has more capabilities.
in regards to PCI - this MB has no PCIe, just "old" PCI and there is
nothing in it. 
i have only 2 internal HDDs and spin-down for one of them would be nice
option - still need to monitor whether this happens after some time.
system was in use for half a day and showed reasonable performance
passive cooling on the NB was working fine (if i do not run X on it)

SSD ... hmm...
is it a big saving in power and gain in speed for the system?
