The new music not scanning is probably a file permissions issue. SBS runs under the username 'squeezeboxserver'. This user must have read-access to the directories (folders) and files in your music library. This user also must have read and write access to the playlists directory and folders.
My preferred setup is to have the music files owned by my username, but world readable (mode 644).
