I'm building a pc for a mate to run his Squeezebox Duet from and he only wants to browse the net and read email from it other than this, so I'm thinking, for the purposes of speed and viruses (his kids keep installing all sorts of rubbish), Ubuntu may be a good idea.
I haven't dabbled with it (Ubuntu) for ages as I built a HTPC using Windows 7 (due to a video relay issue with the video card in Ubuntu) and haven't looked back. His PC is going to be far less specced than mine, his pc will be a 2.8mhz processor and 1Gb of ram. I think it'll be good for everything, however, it must update Album art easily. This is extremely important to him. At the moment he's using Itunes on an XP machine and its all working well, just painfully slow doing anything and the kids... Is there a quick an easy way to get Album art on a Ubuntu based machine now, as I seem to remember it being a bit hit and miss? -- chn68b Source: Squeezebox 3 Amp/Speakers: Meridian M30 Phones: Grado SR-60s Headphone Amp: Pro-ject Headbox II http://www.last.fm/user/chn68b ------------------------------------------------------------------------ chn68b's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=21902 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=80413 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
