My SBS (always testing one :-)) resides on the HP t5730 thin client with 2GB RAM and 32GB SSD. It's 64bit CPU. Not sure if it's the hardware related issue but I tried many flavors of Linux and found out that Debian works miracles for me. Especially latest 5.0.8 64bit version. Faster, smoother and more responsive than 32bit. That system also serves me as ftp and dlna server.
I've been running "Squeeze" for some time already and must say I don't like it - at least not yet. As to SBS I performed some tests and just week ago I switched back to "old" version of Lenny. I even disliked the minor fact that you no longer can login as root into gui. Then some problems with hardware configuration. Don't try to upgrade your current version to Squeeze, instead do clean install. It does require more disk space than previous versions. Of course your mileage may vary. -- gizek very good music > Transporter > Adcom GFP-750 > Citation II tube monoblocks > Proac Response D2; Cardas Neutral Reference all over ------------------------------------------------------------------------ gizek's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=34337 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=85446 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
