I have an old Shuttle PC doing nothing. I may try Vortexbox just for the
fun, but I really want to runs Squeezeserver on a faster PC that drive
the TV with HD content from BBC iPlayer.

I have Linux Mint 10 (Ubuntu family) to dual boot on this W7 Laptop.
Squeezeserver is not in the Respostory, and yes, the installation is
reasonably straightforward from Debian.

I ran into trouble with paths to the my FLAC library on a Data
partition both W7 and Linux can see; and, as far as I can see, they
only way to update is to manually reinstall from the Debian
Respository.
