Cracked how to do it in bulk. For some reason when looking at a directory properties/permissions when I changed the File Access and tried to Apply Permissions to Enclosed Files it reverted to -- in the GUI before I clicked the apply button. This time it stayed as Read-Only until it had updated the files in the directories below. I have now given every man and his dog Read-Only permission on all the files and it seems to have scanned in OK. I have to say the scan didn't seem to take as long as it did in windows 7, but that may be wishful thinking ;-) Anyway. I have it working but can anyone tell me what permissions I need to set as a minimum and for who?
