I've had a problem for ages now where each time I reboot I have to drop the sql database re-do permissions etc, however from reading I suspect it has something to do with running the service as root. Before I address that though, the latest version 7.5.4 doesn't start at all even with the aforementioned. There appears to be nothing useful in the logs at all and I do have sys-apps/baselayout-2.0.2 installed.
I think I need to a) turn debugging on, address that issue then b) figure out the permissions obviously, it would be so good to have this running reliably again.
